Beware Of The Sinister Ghoul Of Quantum Computing Education
It lurks for you in dark trenches when you crave real understanding.
Most quantum computing textbooks and online resources leave you defenseless and lonely in a dangerous maze. They assume fluency in mathematics, and sometimes even quantum mechanics. They leave newcomers stranded at the first turn of Schrödinger’s equation, Hilbert spaces, or even the very first encounter of the quantum superposition.
As a learner, you crave real understanding. But all there is to it are dark trenches. Narrow trenches that lead nowhere.
Instead, mathematical creepers proliferate on their pages. They reach for you. Famished from wandering through the labyrinth, you push your disgust aside and try to cut off a creeping equation. Just one for now — the quantum superposition.
But without an explanation, it’s not you who’s satisfying your hunger. It’s this little critter that’s tugging at you. It’s trying to tear you apart.
Eventually you manage to take it apart with the greatest of difficulty.
